Mom\u2019s physical and mental abilities have been severely impacted by her illness, but her ability\u00a0to show affection is intact. My mother\u2019s spirit is with us. She is\u00a0a happy woman who continues to make us all feel appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>This evening, as the sun is low, we are in the driveway of my parent\u2019s home after a day of appointments. Mom is struggling to get out of the car. She\u00a0acknowledges me and Dad by nodding. Leaning on Dad and grasping my hand,\u00a0she pushes herself out of the car.\u00a0She doesn\u2019t speak- she can\u2019t say much- but her eyes and soft smile show me she can feel our love through this process, also.<\/p>\n<p>These everyday moments help us continue to connect.\u00a0Mom always told us she loved us and showed her love in a multitude of ways.
