My name is Perla Castro. I am a Guatemalan American living in the Chicagoland area. My mother Lesbia (Mami) was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s at 54. She is now in her 60s and in the final stages of the illness.

I am sharing my family’s experience with Alzheimer’s in the hope that the information and resources I pass on will ease your journey through the disease, and allow you to continue to have meaningful interactions with your loved one.
